Let’s welcome Carlos Reyes—recording artist, producer, engineer, harpist, and violinist—as he joins Greg Johnson in this magical performance. Reyes, born in Paraguay, South America, has been breaking musical barriers since his first public performance at the age of five. Known as a child prodigy at an early age, he learned to play many different instruments, including violin, harp, guitar, bass, mandolin, and keyboards, as well as mastered using a variety of electronic devices and special effects.
In his vast career, Reyes has backed such artists as Chuck Mangione, Bill Evans, Clark Terry, Pat Travers, and MC Hammer. He was invited to share the stage with TV giant Merv Griffin. The producer of Whitney Houston, Aretha Franklin, the legendary Narada Michael Walden, Craig Chaquico, The Crusaders, The Rippingtons, Roy Rogers, Charlie Daniels, Wynonna Judd, Clint Black, Willie Nelson, John Handy, The Doobie Brothers, Steve Miller, and many more.
Created in 1991, Greg Johnson and Glass Brick Boulevard rose to acclaim in the Bay Area in the late 90s. Now reunited after a hiatus, they’re making soul-soothing music once again and inspiring audiences the world over. As led by their composer-pianist, the band draws on a diverse array of influences, including gospel, Beethoven, The Who, and Motown, to name just a few. Says Johnson, “If Beethoven came back as Seal, we’d be his band.” Glass Brick Boulevard features Rob Fordyce on bass, Celso Alberti on drums, and Paul Hanson on bassoon.
